 Policy For Hiring Those With Felony Convictions

We received the following response after contacting them regarding their hiring policies for those with felony convictions:

“Yes, we don’t bar felons from employment rather take into account each client’s policy given the nature of our business. Some number of clients that we work with in each market likely will accept felons under certain conditions. Most, if not all, request to review background info before making a decision and specifically to know more about the nature of any conviction, nature of crime and when it occurred.

With respect to Oasis in CA we are sourcing candidates directly by locating them through job boards and other sources as we are seeking a candidate for a specific work assignment. With our branch locations we have job applicants coming to our office regularly and for screening to be accepted into our pool of qualified candidates.

Have They Hired Former Felons?

As stated above, there are some situations that they can work with and hire former felons.

They do not have a specific program for the hiring of those with felony convictions.

Who Makes Hiring Decisions

Hiring decisions are made by both the hiring manager of Oasis with input from their client companies. Company wide guidelines are also followed but nobody is automatically excluded. Typically in these situations the hiring manager is the final decision maker with Human Resources supporting the manager and ensuring that Federal, State, Local, and company policies are followed.

The Best Way To Secure A Position

Since they do not have a specific program for hiring those with felony convictions the best way to secure employment is by going to your local Oasis Outsourcing branch location and applying there.

Getting an employee referral can also be extremely helpful. Finding someone who works for the company that can act as your reference is the best way to overcome the hurdle of having a felony conviction.
