We received the following response after contacting them regarding their hiring policies for those with felony convictions:
“All restaurants are individually owned and operated. Owners abide by all State Labor Department guidelines and age requirements.
Please note that SUBWAY® HQ does not own or do hiring for any of the restaurant locations. All follow up to your application is the responsibility of each individual owner.“

The Best Way To Secure A Position
Applying at your local Subway and convincing the management to hire you is your best bet to secure a position.
Applying in person and explaining your conviction face-to-face generally is much better than simply filling out an application.
If you can get a referral from another employee at that location you will also be helping yourself out tremendously.

I recently was interviewed at Subway in Punta Gorda, Fl. After the interview I was told to call back the next day after Manager talks to district manager to see if I got the job. I was told they couldn’t hire me because of my “background”. I have 3 felonies from 7 years ago. Prior to my ” mistakes” , using drugs. I was a R N for 11 hrs. I didn’t go to prison but did serve jail time, lost my career and court fines to pay still. 7 years ago and I still have trouble getting a job. No one wants to hire me. I’m educated , 51 yrs old. I’ve had to take jobs who pay under the table ( one was $5/hr!!) Moral of this story DON’T DO DRUGS.
I was hired at Subway on the highway in Fairfield Ct. He was hired and loved the job. he would go in anytime they needed someone. His manager told him they wanted to make him a shift manager. After working there for 90 days they called him into the office and said they were sorry, HR wanted them to fire him. Subway only highers felons until they find out your a felon.
