We regret to say that Bose isn’t part of the Ban the Box list. Furthermore, they haven’t taken the Fair Chance Business Pledge.
Here’s why we’re telling you this:
- Ban the Box companies don’t have a check box for a criminal record on their job application. This is how you can be sure that they’ll assess your job skills before they ask if you’ve been in trouble with the law.

Our opinion is that the odds are uncertain. Why? Well for starters, we can’t tell you the company’s official policy. What’s more, they haven’t taken the Fair Chance Business Pledge and they’re not on the Ban the Box list. There are no online comments from staff saying you can get a job at Bose with a felony or misdemeanor. But, Bose says they don’t look at your criminal record right away. This means that they first assess if you’ve got what it takes to do the job and that’s encouraging!
