What are the chances of Bose hiring a felon?

Is Bose on the Ban the Box list?

We regret to say that Bose isn’t part of the Ban the Box list. Furthermore, they haven’t taken the Fair Chance Business Pledge.

Here’s why we’re telling you this:

  • Ban the Box companies don’t have a check box for a criminal record on their job application. This is how you can be sure that they’ll assess your job skills before they ask if you’ve been in trouble with the law.
  • Fair Chance Business Pledge employers sign a commitment to treat everyone who applies for work fairly, so you know they won’t discriminate against you just because you have a criminal history.

This doesn’t say everything about how to get a job at Bose with a felony or misdemeanor, though. Their website says the following about the application:

“Bose does not request that you answer any questions regarding your criminal history at this stage. However, you may be asked for information related to your criminal background at a later stage of the application process, after an initial screening or conditional offer.”

Does Bose have special programs for hiring felons?

Like many employers, they have no special programs for hiring former offenders.

What are the odds someone with a felony will get hired?

Uncertain likelihood of hiring felons

Our opinion is that the odds are uncertain. Why? Well for starters, we can’t tell you the company’s official policy. What’s more, they haven’t taken the Fair Chance Business Pledge and they’re not on the Ban the Box list. There are no online comments from staff saying you can get a job at Bose with a felony or misdemeanor. But, Bose says they don’t look at your criminal record right away. This means that they first assess if you’ve got what it takes to do the job and that’s encouraging!

How to get hired at Bose with a felony

What are some entry-level jobs?

The best example of an entry-level job we found is in-store as a Sales Specialist. Basically, you’re responsible for advising customers about Bose products and helping them find the best one for their needs. To apply, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent education and some retail experience.

The job requirements change a bit depending on whether you’re working full- or part-time. Full-time Sales Specialists need a minimum of two years’ related experience. However, for part-timers in the job any amount of sales experience will do. Also, full-time staff have sales goals to meet.

Tips to get hired here with a felony

What felony convictions might have a hard time getting hired here?

Since Bose relies on teamwork, they’ll consider any felonies that suggest you might have trouble getting along with others. For instance, violent offenses can show that temper control is a problem. Also, a criminal history of harassment, stalking, intimidation and the like will count against you.

Maybe you’re wondering does Bose hire felons convicted of property crimes? Even if your offenses were treated as misdemeanors, this will raise a red flag for the company. The reason is that they want to be able to trust you with the merchandise!

Does Bose hire sex offenders?

They might, but it’s uncertain if they will or not because of a lack of information.

Does Bose drug test?

Yes, the company’s terms and conditions of employment tells you they will.
